Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for stronger international cooperation in traditional medicine to improve global health and make better use of medicinal resources. Speaking at the World Conference on Traditional Medicine 2026 in Beijing on Saturday, Li said science and technology should support innovation, including the digital development of traditional Chinese medicine.
He also encouraged greater international research cooperation, wider access to medical services and efforts to protect medicinal resources. Li said China was willing to work with other countries to improve global health equity. He added that countries should focus on cooperation and inclusive development rather than pursuing policies that benefit themselves at the expense of others.
