The United Nations has expressed deep concern over continued Israeli attacks affecting civilians and populated areas across the Gaza Strip. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported airstrikes, shelling, demolitions and gunfire in several parts of Gaza on Tuesday and Wednesday, stressing that civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected.
The UN and its partners have delivered fuel, winter clothing, medicines and other supplies to help people prepare for the approaching cold and rainy season. However, aid remains insufficient due to funding shortages and Israeli restrictions. Meanwhile, the UN human rights office condemned Israeli raids on Palestinian civil society organizations and a medical complex in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, saying the confiscation of equipment and detention of people were raising serious concerns about human rights work.
