Hurricane Isaias killed at least four people after making landfall near Destin, Florida, on Saturday as a Category 2 storm before weakening into a post-tropical cyclone. The victims included two people killed by falling trees in Florida and Alabama. Nearly 670,000 customers across Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi remained without electricity as the storm damaged buildings, roads and other infrastructure.
Recovery efforts are underway along the Gulf Coast, with some businesses, roads and airports reopening. However, the National Hurricane Center warned that storm surges, flash flooding, strong winds and possible tornadoes could continue across parts of the southeastern United States. Florida officials also warned that further flooding could occur over the next few days.
