The 100-day countdown to the 33rd Winter World University Games began on Wednesday in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province. Organizers unveiled the event’s torch, medals and promotional song ahead of the competition.
The torch, named “Ji Xiang,” or “Auspicious Flight,” is inspired by Changchun’s city flower and features elements representing film, skiing and automobiles. The medals are named “Ji Meng,” or “Auspicious Dream.” All 10 competition venues have been completed, and 8,100 volunteers have been selected from more than 120,000 applicants to support the Games.
