China’s National Day holiday film market has remained strong, with total box-office earnings and advance sales passing 900 million yuan, or about $134 million, after five straight days of daily revenue above 100 million yuan. A mix of domestic and foreign films, including family movies, animation, thrillers and comedies, has attracted audiences.
Movies are also boosting tourism, with popular filming locations drawing visitors. In Jiangmen, Guangdong, tourists have visited locations featured in the crime film “V,” while Qingdao has added film-themed tours, outdoor screenings, film carnivals and cultural events during the holiday.
