Yemen’s Houthi group said Tuesday it launched a ballistic missile at Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia, claiming the attack disrupted air traffic. Saudi authorities did not immediately confirm the claim, but officials said two other airports in the southwest were targeted on Monday, with three people slightly injured.
The attacks are part of a recent escalation between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia. The Houthis have continued missile and drone attacks on Saudi targets, while Saudi Arabia has increased airstrikes against Houthi positions in support of Yemen’s government forces. The latest clashes mark the sharpest escalation since a UN-brokered truce in 2022.
