China’s newly opened Pinglu Canal in Guangxi has become a popular tourist attraction during its first National Day holiday. Visitors can take sightseeing cruises along the canal, with around 7,800 tourist visits and 52 cruise services expected during the holiday. The 134.2-kilometer canal connects the Xijiang River shipping network with the Beibu Gulf and serves both tourism and commercial shipping, providing a new river-to-sea route for western and southwestern China.
