Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed five initiatives to deepen “greater BRICS” cooperation in AI, trade and investment, digital industries, smart manufacturing, and science and technology talent development.
Xi called on BRICS and other Global South countries to strengthen multilateralism, respect international law, support the United Nations, reform global financial and trade systems, and improve cooperation on security, climate change, and AI governance.
The five initiatives aim to create practical opportunities through AI cooperation, a more integrated market, digital development, smart factories, and joint talent training. Xi also said China’s 15th Five-Year Plan will create new opportunities for international cooperation and help promote development across the Global South.
