Tanzania delivers 52 tons of medical aid to DRC for Ebola fight

Tanzania has sent 52 tons of medicines and medical supplies worth about $88,000 to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to help fight an Ebola outbreak. The supplies include medicines, protective equipment for health workers and medical equipment to improve patient care and help stop the spread of the virus.

Tanzania said the support shows its commitment to working with neighboring countries during health emergencies. DRC officials thanked Tanzania for the assistance, saying it will help protect healthcare workers and affected communities. As of early September, the DRC had reported more than 6,300 confirmed Ebola cases and over 3,000 deaths in the country’s deadliest Ebola outbreak on record. Credit : CGTN
