Heilongjiang, China’s top grain-producing province, is using AI, drones, robots and smart machinery to make farming more efficient and digital. Technologies such as remote sensing and AI are helping farmers monitor soil and crop conditions, while robots can remove weeds without chemicals and intelligent seeders improve planting efficiency.
Heilongjiang has led China in grain production for 16 consecutive years and produced a record 82 million tonnes of grain in 2025. With farm mechanization already above 99%, the province is now focusing on smarter agriculture and plans to further develop agricultural robots and AI-powered farming technology. Credit : CGTN
