During his talks in Beijing with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Chinese President Xi Jinping outlined four key principles for resolving the Palestinian question, which remains at the core of the Middle East issue. He stressed that the international community must first uphold a political settlement by advancing the two-state solution and restarting peace talks to establish an independent Palestinian state. Second, he emphasized following the principle of “Palestinians governing Palestine” for post-war reconstruction in Gaza and the governance of the West Bank. Third, Xi called for upholding humanitarian principles by protecting civilian lives and ensuring aid delivery through the responsibility of bodies like the UN Security Council. Finally, he underscored the need to uphold fairness and justice by adhering to international law to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the conflict. Credit : CGTN
