Israel has threatened to intensify military operations against Hamas leadership and displace more Palestinians from parts of Gaza if launches of kites, balloons, and drones toward southern Israel persist. Issued jointly by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and Defense Minister Israel Katz following a security assessment, the warning comes despite an October 2025 ceasefire. While Israeli media reported that ten kites have crossed the border since Friday—including one intercepted Sunday, marking the first such interception since 2018—the military confirmed the devices carried no explosives and posed no public danger.
