Italy and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, calling for the Gaza ceasefire to be maintained, humanitarian aid deliveries to be expanded and efforts toward lasting peace to continue. In a joint statement issued after talks in Rome, the two countries also condemned violence in the West Bank and opposed the forced displacement of Palestinians. Meanwhile, the United Nations has intensified health and sanitation assistance in Gaza, increasing efforts to control rodent infestations, improve access to clean water and restore damaged infrastructure.
