US and Saudi forces launched coordinated strikes against armed groups in Iraq that Washington and Riyadh say are backed by Iran and were responsible for attacks on military bases and oil facilities. Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces reported that at least 20 of its members were killed and 32 others were injured. Meanwhile, Iran claimed responsibility for missile attacks targeting US military facilities in Jordan, saying the strikes were retaliation for American actions in the region. The latest developments have further escalated tensions across the Middle East, with Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United States and regional armed groups continuing to exchange attacks.
