Zelenskyy names Mykhailo Drapatyi as new commander-in-chief

The move follows days of street protests and a controversial government reshuffle that raised concerns about Ukraine’s wartime leadership. Drapatyi, seen as a modern military leader with more than a decade of combat experience, has pledged to lead with responsibility and focus. Zelenskyy said Ukraine will continue its long-range strike strategy against Russia, while the appointment is widely viewed as an effort to restore confidence in the country’s military leadership.
