All maritime traffic banned in Strait of Hormuz, Iran says, as Israel readies to resume fighting

Iran says traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to zero as restrictions on vessel movement remain in place amid escalating tensions with the United States.

The IRGC Navy said the waterway will stay blocked while what it called US “hostile actions” continue. The disruption pushed crude oil prices above $90 as concerns grew over global energy supplies.

Meanwhile, fighting between the US and Iran continued to intensify, with reports of new Iranian attacks on Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, while US strikes entered their ninth consecutive night. The International Atomic Energy Agency also said it was investigating reports of an attack on Iran’s Darkhovin nuclear power plant site, which contained no nuclear material when last inspected.
