US forces carried out another round of strikes against Iran on Sunday, targeting areas Washington said were linked to threats against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian media reported attacks in Hormozgan Province that killed one person and injured two others.
The strikes marked the third US military action against Iran in a week, with Tehran responding by launching missile and drone attacks on US facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar. Iran also announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, while US President Donald Trump said the key shipping route remained open.
The escalation drew criticism from regional countries, with Egypt, Iraq and the UAE condemning Iran’s attacks and warning of risks to regional security. They called for restraint and dialogue to prevent further conflict.
