Jude Bellingham scored twice as England defeated Norway 2-1 after extra time to reach the semifinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Norway took the lead through Andreas Schjelderup in the first half, but Bellingham equalized before halftime and completed his brace early in extra time to end Norway’s historic run.
England will face defending champions Argentina in the semifinals after Argentina overcame Switzerland 3-1 after extra time. Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring, while Switzerland’s Dan Ndoye forced extra time with an equalizer. Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez later sealed Argentina’s victory, keeping their title defense alive. Switzerland’s impressive World Cup campaign ended after reaching the quarterfinals for the first time since 1954.
