The 2026 World AI Conference (WAIC) will be held in Shanghai from July 17 to 20, featuring its largest event yet with over 1,000 exhibitors, 3,000 cutting-edge technologies and more than 300 new AI products making their global debut. The conference will also host over 140 forums and introduce a dedicated academic program for the first time.
Organizers said China’s AI industry has grown to more than one trillion yuan (about 147 billion US dollars) and is expected to expand by over 30 percent this year. Officials also announced plans to strengthen AI innovation, expand real-world applications and deepen international cooperation, while promoting the safe and responsible development of artificial intelligence.
