China says it is ready to provide more support to Venezuela as the country recovers from the devastating earthquakes that have killed more than 3,300 people and injured over 16,000. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing has pledged an additional 100 million yuan (about 14.7 million US dollars) in emergency aid, on top of earlier cash assistance.
The first shipment of Chinese humanitarian supplies, including generators, water purification equipment, tents and blankets, has already arrived in Venezuela. China has also provided satellite images of the disaster areas, while Chinese companies and overseas Chinese communities have donated machinery, equipment and food to support relief efforts.
