Norway pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the 2026 FIFA World Cup by beating five-time champions Brazil 2-1 to reach the quarterfinals for the first time. Erling Haaland scored twice in the final 11 minutes, while Neymar’s late penalty was not enough to prevent Brazil’s elimination.
In the other round-of-16 match, England defeated co-host Mexico 3-2 despite playing with 10 men for more than half an hour. Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane added a penalty as England held off Mexico’s late comeback to set up a quarterfinal clash with Norway.
