Russia has proposed a temporary ceasefire in the eastern Ukrainian city of Konstantinovka on Monday to allow the transfer of the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. Moscow said it is willing to pause fighting for six hours and has asked Ukraine to respond to the proposal by Sunday. The announcement came after Russia claimed it had captured the city, calling it a key strategic and transportation hub. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine’s military rejected the claim, saying the city remains under Ukrainian control.
