Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council executive meeting on Monday that focused on key national priorities, including artificial intelligence, foreign trade, green development, and public health.
On AI development, the meeting called for faster technological breakthroughs, the construction of large-scale computing infrastructure, and stronger support for talent and funding. It also urged the wider commercial rollout of AI products while emphasizing safety and international cooperation in AI governance.
On foreign trade, officials stressed expanding imports, improving export quality and brand value, and strengthening services and digital trade. The meeting also highlighted the need to support balanced trade growth.
Separately, the meeting approved plans related to carbon peaking and a national health strategy for the 2026–2030 period, calling for accelerated green transition efforts and the development of a full life-cycle health service system with improved product safety oversight.
