US President Donald Trump said Iran has requested a meeting that will take place in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, despite Iran denying that any such talks are scheduled.
Trump announced the planned meeting on social media, while Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected reports that Iranian and US technical teams would meet this week to discuss implementing their preliminary agreement.
The conflicting statements highlight continued uncertainty over whether formal talks between the two countries will move forward amid ongoing tensions.
