China on Thursday urged the G7 to stop using “small circle” approaches that undermine global trade, after the group said it aims to reduce reliance on Chinese rare earths and critical minerals.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said China’s policy on stabilizing global supply chains remains unchanged and stressed that all countries should support open and secure trade flows.
He added that China’s export control measures follow international practice and are intended to protect global security and fulfill non-proliferation responsibilities.
