Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on Party members to carry forward revolutionary traditions and make new contributions in the new era.
In a reply letter to 102-year-old Party veteran Zhang Liansheng ahead of the Communist Party of China’s 105th founding anniversary on July 1, Xi extended greetings to veteran Party members across the country.
Xi praised Zhang, a former radio operator who served during the War of Liberation, for his lifelong dedication and unwavering commitment to the Party. He urged all Party members to stay true to their original mission, fulfill their duties faithfully and take responsibility in their work.
The “Fourth Brigade” that Zhang served in was a Xinhua communications and news team that followed the Party Central Committee and Mao Zedong in northern Shaanxi during the war.
