The 2026 Forum on Global Human Rights Governance opened in Beijing on Thursday, gathering more than 400 officials, experts and international representatives from over 100 countries, along with participants from the United Nations and other organizations.
Held to mark the 40th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Right to Development, the two-day forum focuses on promoting human rights through development. Delegates are exchanging views on global human rights governance and discussing how development, cooperation and shared prosperity can strengthen human rights protection worldwide.
