Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un agreed on Tuesday to carry forward the traditional friendship between China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea from generation to generation.
During Xi’s state visit to Pyongyang, the two leaders paid tribute at the China-DPRK Friendship Tower, honoring the shared history of Chinese and North Korean forces fighting side by side during the Korean War. They also pledged to preserve memorial sites dedicated to the Chinese People’s Volunteers and promote education on revolutionary traditions and the spirit of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
Earlier, Xi and Kim visited the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea, where they jointly planted a fir tree symbolizing the enduring and continually renewed friendship between the two neighboring countries.
