Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea in Pyongyang on Tuesday, accompanied by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
During the visit, the two leaders jointly planted a fir tree on the school grounds. According to Chinese state media, the evergreen tree symbolizes the enduring friendship and long-term cooperation between China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The visit formed part of Xi’s state visit to the DPRK, which is taking place as the two countries mark the 65th anniversary of their Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
