Chinese President Xi Jinping held high-level talks in Pyongyang with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, calling for stronger political mutual trust and deeper practical cooperation between China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Xi said the two sides should consolidate traditional friendship, enhance exchanges at all levels, and expand cooperation in areas including economy, agriculture, science and technology, and cultural exchanges. He also stressed closer strategic coordination amid global changes, and reiterated China’s commitment to regional peace and stability.
Kim Jong Un welcomed Xi’s visit, describing it as a strong signal of the importance China places on bilateral ties. He pledged to fully implement the consensus reached during the talks and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
