China has imposed entry bans on several New Zealand lawmakers after they visited Taiwan and met with senior Taiwanese officials, according to the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand. Beijing said the visit violated the one-China principle and interfered in China’s internal affairs, prompting measures that include denying the lawmakers entry to mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. China urged New Zealand to uphold the one-China principle, which it described as the political foundation of bilateral relations.
