South Africa has announced its 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, head coach Hugo Broos confirmed at a send-off event in Pretoria.
The team, built mainly around players from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, will compete in Group A against Mexico, South Korea and the Czech Republic.
South Africa will open its campaign against host Mexico on June 11 in Mexico City, marking a symbolic rematch 16 years after the two teams met in the 2010 World Cup opener in Johannesburg.
It will be South Africa’s fourth World Cup appearance, and its first since hosting the tournament in 2010.
