US and Iranian negotiators have reportedly agreed on a draft 60-day ceasefire extension framework, but President Donald Trump has not approved it yet, saying he needs more time to review.
The proposed deal would include talks on Iran’s nuclear program, potential sanctions relief, and measures to keep shipping through the Strait of Hormuz open, according to reports. Iran, however, says no final agreement has been reached and denies committing to any nuclear terms.
US officials say negotiations are ongoing and that Trump has set strict conditions, including limits on Iran’s uranium stockpile and freedom of navigation in the Strait.
Tensions remain high, with both sides reporting military incidents at sea and warnings over further escalation if talks fail.
