Pakistan has stated it will not join any agreement aimed at normalizing relations with Israel, with Defense Minister Khawaja Asif saying the country would reject any deal that conflicts with its core ideological positions.
The comments followed a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump, who urged several countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, and Pakistan to consider joining the Abraham Accords or step back from mediation efforts involving Iran.
Pakistan reaffirmed its stance against normalization, while the accords—first brokered in 2020—have previously led to diplomatic ties between Israel and several Arab states.
