Reports suggest the United States and Iran are moving toward a possible agreement that could ease tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, though details remain disputed across different sources.
According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, a draft deal would restore shipping levels through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war conditions within 30 days and require lifting restrictions on maritime activity. The report also said Iran would maintain its sovereign control over the waterway.
Separately, US media cited officials saying a broader framework under discussion includes a temporary ceasefire extension, partial reopening of the strait, and resumed negotiations on wider issues, including sanctions and regional security.
However, Iranian sources quoted by state-linked outlets pushed back on some of these claims, saying nuclear issues are not part of any current preliminary agreement and that no deal has been finalized regarding uranium stockpiles or transfer conditions.
Both sides appear to acknowledge ongoing negotiations, but key elements of the potential agreement remain unconfirmed and contested.
