China said APEC member economies agreed to adopt a joint statement and approve a new roadmap for services sector development during the APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting held in Suzhou this week.
Wang Wentao said all 21 member economies attended the two-day meeting, reflecting strong support for regional economic cooperation despite global uncertainties. The joint statement adopted at the meeting was named the “Suzhou Statement.”
Delegates discussed strengthening an open and predictable regional trade system, supporting reform of the World Trade Organization, and promoting cooperation in digital and green trade.
China said the 2026 APEC “China Year” focuses on openness, innovation and cooperation, with the goal of turning the vision of an Asia-Pacific community into practical action.
