Germany has unveiled detailed technology roadmaps under its “High-Tech Agenda Germany,” aiming to boost competitiveness in key fields like AI, quantum technology, microelectronics, biotechnology, clean energy, and climate-neutral mobility. The plan, first approved in 2025, now lays out specific targets and timelines for each sector.
It includes ambitions such as building at least two error-corrected quantum computers by 2030, approving Germany’s first personalized mRNA cancer immunotherapy by 2028, and expanding AI so it contributes about 10% of the economy by 2030. The strategy also focuses on turning research into real-world applications by supporting startups and cutting bureaucratic delays.
Alongside these core areas, Germany will also invest in aerospace and security-related research to strengthen long-term technological capacity.
