Vladimir Putin is expected to visit China from May 19 to 20 for talks with Xi Jinping, with discussions likely to focus on trade, energy, transport, and global security issues.
The visit comes shortly after Xi hosted Donald Trump in Beijing, highlighting China’s active role in recent global diplomacy. Analysts say the timing reflects China’s effort to maintain strategic engagement with both Washington and Moscow.
China and Russia have described their ties as being at a historic high, with bilateral trade surpassing $240 billion last year and energy cooperation remaining a key pillar of the relationship. The visit is also expected to produce new agreements in economic and technological cooperation.
