China launched a Long March-8 carrier rocket from Hainan on Sunday, sending a new batch of satellites into space as part of the Spacesail Constellation.
The satellites, the ninth group in the network, were successfully placed into their preset orbit. Spacesail is a Chinese commercial low-orbit megaconstellation designed to eventually include around 10,000 satellites, providing global broadband internet coverage.
With this launch, a total of 162 satellites have been delivered to orbit since the program began in August 2024.
