Top political advisor urges people across Taiwan Strait to promote Chinese culture

Top political advisor Wang Huning addressed the third Cross-Strait Chinese Culture Summit in Beijing on Monday, emphasizing the shared responsibility of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to preserve and promote Chinese culture. He highlighted the summit as a symbol of the belief that the nation and its civilization cannot be divided. Wang called for deeper cultural exchanges and integrated development while reaffirming the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus.
During the meeting, Wang urged a firm stance against “Taiwan independence” and attempts to sever cultural ties, encouraging the youth to foster a strong sense of national community. Chang Jung-kung, vice chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang party, echoed these sentiments, stressing that both sides belong to one family and should work together toward national rejuvenation. The summit, attended by over 800 representatives, included a main forum, media discussions, and various cultural exhibitions.
