Asian Beach Games officially opened in Sanya with a vibrant ceremony celebrating the city’s coastal identity.
The event has brought together 45 delegations and around 10,000 participants, including over 1,600 athletes, after being postponed multiple times due to the pandemic.
Shen Yiqin declared the Games open, while Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani praised China’s hosting capabilities.
The competition will run until April 30, featuring dozens of events across beach and water sports.
