Cheng Li-wun has led a delegation from the Kuomintang to the Chinese mainland for a multi-city visit covering Shanghai, Jiangsu and Beijing, marking the first such trip by a KMT leader in a decade.
Invited by the Communist Party of China, Cheng said the visit aims to promote peace across the Taiwan Strait, while mainland officials highlighted its role in strengthening cross-Strait dialogue and cooperation.
Cheng reaffirmed the KMT’s commitment to the 1992 Consensus and opposition to “Taiwan independence,” positioning the visit as part of ongoing efforts to support stable and peaceful cross-Strait relations.
