China mourns fallen heroes during Qingming Festival

During the Qingming Festival, China honored the millions of martyrs who have died in service to the country, including 210 police officers and 142 auxiliary officers who lost their lives in 2025 alone. Ceremonies across the nation highlighted individuals like Xie Yufeng and Yang Guolin, who died during daring rescues, as well as those who perished from overwork or in the line of duty during poverty alleviation and forensic investigations. These commemorations, involving flower-laying and moments of silence at cemeteries, connect modern sacrifices with historical revolutionary struggles.
