Severe flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in Afghanistan have killed at least 99 people and injured 154 others over the past nine days. The disaster has destroyed or damaged 5,000 homes, washed away hundreds of kilometers of roads, and inundated over 14,000 acres of farmland, affecting more than 8,500 families. While rescue teams are currently distributing emergency aid in the worst-hit areas, the country’s meteorological department has warned that continued rainfall could trigger further flooding across all provinces in the coming days.
