The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Xi Jinping have invited Cheng Li-wun, chairperson of the Kuomintang (KMT), to visit the Chinese mainland from April 7 to 12.
According to Song Tao, head of the Taiwan Work Office, Cheng is welcome to lead a delegation to Jiangsu, Shanghai and Beijing. The invitation aims to promote CPC-KMT relations and support peaceful cross-Strait development.
Cheng accepted the invitation and expressed hope for stronger exchanges, deeper cooperation, and efforts to enhance peace and well-being across the Taiwan Strait.
