China says Japan’s exaggeration of so-called external threats is driven by ulterior motives

The remarks came in response to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s statement that Japan faces its most serious security environment since World War II due to regional tensions. China’s spokesperson highlighted Japan’s historical aggression and warned against its recent moves to strengthen military capabilities, including discussions around offensive power and nuclear weapons. He urged the international community to remain vigilant against the rise of militarism and to safeguard regional peace and stability.
