Zhai Jun, China’s special envoy on the Middle East, met with diplomats from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on Wednesday to discuss regional tensions.
He said the ongoing conflict poses a serious threat to peace and stability, and emphasized that China supports GCC countries in protecting their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. Zhai added that China will stay in close communication with GCC members and continue efforts to help ease tensions.
GCC envoys shared their views on the situation and expressed hope that China can play a bigger role in promoting peace and stability in the region
