China launched a Smart Dragon-3 (Jielong-3) carrier rocket on Sunday from waters near Haiyang City in Shandong Province, sending the CentiSpace-02 satellite group into its planned orbit. The offshore mission was carried out by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
Developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the four-stage solid-fuel commercial rocket is designed for sun-synchronous and low-Earth orbits and can carry up to 1,500 kg to a 500-km SSO. This was the rocket’s 10th flight mission.
