Chinese President Xi Jinping sent congratulations to the 10th summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) held in Bogotá. He praised CELAC’s role in promoting regional peace, stability, and Global South cooperation.
Xi noted that the 2025 ministerial meeting of the China–CELAC Forum in Beijing launched five joint programs on solidarity, development, civilization, peace, and people-to-people ties, which have since delivered practical benefits.
He said China will remain a reliable partner to Latin American and Caribbean countries, support their sovereignty and development interests, and work together to promote fairness and build a shared future. Colombia currently holds CELAC’s rotating presidency.
