Peng Liyuan, the wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, has called for stronger global support to fight tuberculosis (TB). Speaking at a virtual event for World TB Day 2026 organized by the World Health Organization, she encouraged countries and people to work together to prevent and treat the disease. She praised global efforts and China’s progress in reducing TB cases through better healthcare systems and innovation. Peng also highlighted China’s volunteer campaigns, with over 1 million people raising awareness over the past 15 years. She urged everyone worldwide to take action and cooperate to end TB and improve global health.
